September is Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month!! Log on to www.bafound.org to learn the facts and make a donation.
School is back in full swing. Spencer is doing great and is reading like a champ. He has several of his good buddies in his class and really loves school. Sydney, my little kindergartener, is loving school. She has such an awesome teacher and stays so busy. When she gets home from school in the afternoon she is like a zombie. The days are long and hard on her but she doesn't mind. I remember the day when you only had 1/2 day kindergarten and Spencer took naps in kindergarten. No so these days. Brogan is enrolled at the same preschool as last year. It is only 2 short mornings a week but just enough for him to have some social interaction. He loves to visit Spencer and Sydney at school and their teachers are great about him being around.

Cortney left today for a World Aquaculture Society meeting in VeraCruz, Mexico. He will be gone for 7 nights. My work load will increase with the three kids but the nights are going to be quiet and peaceful.

Well, that's about it for now. I will update soon. I will be attending the 1st Annual John Assante Memorial Aneurysm walk in Boca Raton this weekend. I look forward to meeting other survivors!

Peace and Love!

Hey Tammy. I am so glad that you wrote. It sounds like you are really doing fantastic! I am so happy to hear that.

I had a CT scan at 6 months. I have spoken to others that waited until one year. Looking back, it was nice because it relieved some of my fears but CT scans do not come without their own concerns of too much radiation to the brain, ultimately causing cancer. So, I guess if your doctor feels comfortable with the year check up you should not worry and just focus on healing.

I can remember having alot of itching but my head was so numb I could not feel the scratching! It drove me crazy. It is all part of the healing process. I would wear a bandana over the scar at times so I could gently scratch without having my hands all over the scar. Hopefully it won't last much longer.

I would love to hear more of your story. Please e-mail me at hollyohs@hotmail.com and lets talk more.

In Him,

Holly Ohs

Cortney and Holly,

My husband and I will be in Ormond Beach from 12/27/09 to 12/31/09 and would love to visit with you if possible. Do you live fairly close to Ormond Beach area? If so perhaps we could visit, go out for lunch, dinner, etc.
